Carlton Solar Farm
Carlton Solar Farm is a consented 49.9MW solar photovoltaic (PV) project located near Carlton, North Yorkshire.

The Development
The project has been designed to make efficient use of the available grid connection in the area while responding to local environmental, landscape, heritage, ecological, drainage and highway considerations assessed through the planning process.
The scheme includes solar panels and batteries, electrical equipment, internal access tracks, underground cabling, landscaping, ecological enhancement areas and a connection to the local electricity network via the substation at Camblesforth.
The project includes measures to mitigate landscape and ecological impacts, alongside enhancements to support biodiversity and environmental quality, secured through the planning permission. Landscaping will be undertaken during the appropriate planting seasons as the project is finalised.

A Managed Construction Process

Working hours:
Monday to Friday: 08:00–18:00
Saturday: 08:00–13:00
Sundays and Bank Holidays: No working, unless otherwise agreed with the Local Planning Authority.
Deliveries and vehicle movements will be managed to reduce disruption to local residents, road users and nearby businesses. Where required, traffic management measures will be used to maintain highway safety and avoid unnecessary congestion. Some temporary increases in traffic, noise or site activity may occur during construction. These will be managed through approved traffic, environmental and ecological controls.
The site will incorporate a combination of CCTV monitoring and on-site staff security presence throughout the construction phase to support site safety and security.

This website will provide updates on construction activities, programme changes and other information relevant to local residents and road users. Stakeholders may submit questions, requests for information, feedback or grievances by phone, email, website form or post. All grievances will be acknowledged within five working days, recorded in the project grievance register, investigated and responded to with proposed actions. Concerns may be raised confidentially where requested, and no individual will be disadvantaged for raising a concern.

Our contractors and suppliers are expected to meet appropriate standards on health and safety, environmental management, responsible procurement, labour conditions, modern slavery and social value.
As part of our stakeholder engagement process, we also welcome questions or concerns relating to construction practices, worker welfare, supply chain matters or environmental and social performance.
